Course 9.4: Physical theatre
Physical theatre is a very special acting style. Because whereas every acting genre relies on words for telling a story, physical acting does not. Your body is your most important tool in this acting method.
It’s not easy to summarize what physical acting exactly is, because a lot of different styles of physical acting exist. It can include contemporary dancing, clownery, acrobatics, miming and even puppetry. The most important feature that combines all of these styles into physical theatre, is that your body and its movements are key. Words are rarely used, and if they are, they are merely supportive of your body.
